Season’s Greetings Snogo Family,

As we slide toward the year-end holidays, I’ve been reflecting more than ever on the importance of connection and shared experience. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy me-time as much as anyone, to read, recharge, reflect, or rewatch my favorite HBO show for the 10th time. But if I’m honest, all of my favorite memories are of experiences I shared with other human beings.

Who can relate?

Hey Snogo,

I’m gonna be discreet here (work wouldn’t understand) but I just had the most terrific night thanks to you and I had to share. Let’s just say my name’s LC.

Quick context — my dating life has been out of wack since the pandemic. I dunno, something about spending that much time isolated — it’s felt like I’m tuned to a different frequency than I used to be, and the romantic signals or whatever aren’t sending / receiving.

And having set New Year’s plans with friends a week ago, I’ve spent the past week beating myself up for not having a date. Seriously, y’all, my self-talk is RUDE.

So anyway, my bestie — I gotta give her a code name too (work) — my bestie Dee, her boyfriend, and I went out last night starting at the rooftop bar. Yes, there’s a lot of those in LA, but if you live in LA, you know which one I mean. Super pretty, patterned tile floors, twinkly lights.

Yes, that one. Yes, I also love/hate it too — usually. Tonight, I love it, because … I met someone.

LC met someone! Call the media!

And I’m telling you about it, because this guy, first thing he said to me was a compliment on my “pendant”. He was of course talking about my SNOGO lol.

I wasn’t gonna come right out and tell the guy what it is, what’s in it, etc. And I’m not totally sure about this, but I think what was happening is he was sensing I’ve got a little secret and I’m looking at this gorgeous guy and I wanna tell him but I need to get a read on him first.

So I was asking him about him and he was asking about me and, YEAH, signals, frequency, all of it was working and then some. Connection.

We found out we’d been to like three of the same LCD shows. We’re both annoyed Panda Bear’s 2025 tour doesn’t have an LA stop. And for some reason, when he said his first music purchase was a Talking Heads CD when he was 7, that’s when I decided to share my SNOGO’s secret with him.

Is that a good basis for trust? Is for me I guess lol.

At some point Dee checked in with me before leaving — I think I said something to her about David Byrne — to which she eye-rolled and correctly interpreted that I wished to keep talking with my new friend.

End of the night, after talking until closing time, we were about to kiss — and this man, the nerve of this man, he stops and instead asks me what I’m doing for New Year’s.

Sir. Are you trying to save a first kiss with me for New Years? Staaahhhhpppp.

Thank you Snogo for being the best ice breaker, conversation starter, mysterious, shareable, Cupid, wonderful, cool — I’m just saying words now, aren’t I? The best.

Wow, “LC” definitely found a connection! Happy to hear the signals are sending and receiving as they should be. Also, I’m happy to hear stories like this because it goes to the heart of the Snogo mission — connection and shared experience.

It was tricky to create something eye-catching and discreet at the same time, with both clever design and durable utility. As we count our blessings this holiday season, we feel so grateful to be part of this community and to see Snogoers connecting with one another in so many different ways. And as “LC’s” story shows, sometimes those connections can potentially lead to the most special thing there is.
